The PROXIMITY architectural reader has been designed to fit discreetly and stylishly into installations where aesthetics are paramount. The reader is manufactured using high quality materials and has 3 high intensity LED's. The reader consists of two main parts, the reader and the insert. 3 standard types of insert are available; wood, glass and stone. We can supply the dimensions of the insert to allow the use of other non-metal materials (see the insert drawing in the web links box on this page). This gives limitless possibilities and provides the possibility of a reader that is truly sympathetic with its environment.
The reader itself is also available in 3 finishes.

Installation - The architectural reader is designed to be partially sunken into the wall and is fitted using a backbox that is provided as part of the product.
The reader is suitable for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems and is wired using the colour coding on the control unit label.
Operation - A token is read by holding it within close proximity of the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is granted or denied as appropriate. If access is granted the reader LED's show green. If access is denied the reader LED's show red. At other times the reader LED's maintain a constant white light.
